Theatre Manager
Jo-Anne Gunn
Prior to working in healthcare, Jo was a Company Secretary for an IT Consultancy and has volunteered for 25 years as a befriender for a charity providing support for bereaved parents.
Jo qualified as an Operating Department Practitioner from Oxford Brookes University in 2014. She has since studied Infection Prevention and Control at de Montfort University and Facilitating Learning at UWE.
As an ODP, Jo is trained to work in anaesthetics, surgery and recovery and has maintained her skills in all three areas throughout the course of her career to date: in anaesthetics and recovery in the NHS and as a scrub practitioner for an independent ophthalmic surgical provider.
Jo has spent the last 5 years developing her leadership skills while working simultaneously in both the NHS and private practice; in the NHS as a Theatre Coordinator and in private practice as a Deputy Manager. I feel very honoured to be Theatre Manager at North Bristol Private Hospital as it is a fantastic opportunity for me to develop my career along with the service. I have worked with excellent clinicians and teams and my goal is to build an amazing team who will deliver safe patient care with excellence.
Out of work, Jo enjoys outdoor activities and regularly paddleboards and horserides but not at the same time!
