How do Dermal Fillers work?
Dermal fillers can give a natural lift by replacing missing volume and stimulating lost collagen. They can enhance cheekbones, plump up the lips or even smooth the contour of an uneven nose for a non surgical rhinoplasty.
With good knowledge of facial anatomy injectables like dermal fillers and Botox® can be introduced to the multiple layers of the skin or deep tissue to achieve an amazing rejuvenating effect.
Dermal fillers are safe, easy to apply, long-lasting, and virtually painless to inject. All of the dermal filler products we use at North Bristol Private Hospital are hypoallergenic, produce consistently excellent results, feel natural under the skin, and require no downtime for recovery.Â
The results can last anywhere from 6 months up to 18 months, depending on the product used, and you will see a natural and beautiful result right away.
Dermal filler treatment is done as an outpatient at North Bristol Private Hospital, but it can be used to complement other surgical treatments for patients undergoing cosmetic surgery.
What areas do Dermal Fillers work best on?
Popular areas for filling lines and creases include:
- Laughter lines (nasolabial furrows)
- Tear-trough lines (under-eye furrows)
- Lip or lip-border enhancement
- Cheek enhancement
- Chin or jaw line enhancement
- Raising mouth corners
Dermal fillers can also be used to straighten out the contours of the nose, for a non-surgical rhinoplasty, with outstanding and natural-looking results.
Fillers and Botox® - what’s the difference?
Fillers are colourless gels that are injected into areas of facial tissue. They are targeted at areas where there is loss of volume or severe folds. They work to create a plumper, smoother appearance.Â
Anti-wrinkle injections use the drug Botulinum toxin. Botox® is injected into the muscles that control facial movement to prevent contractions. In doing so, they eliminate and prevent wrinkles and fine lines.
